After the 3-day training course in Porto/Matosinhos the practical phase has now started.
The practical phase consists of two stages:
First stage: The 15 course participants apply and transfer their learning by training other ‘facilitators’, i.e. HR managers, career coaches, line managers etc,. in the SASSI Working On approach and techniques.
Second stage: The course participants and the newly trained ‘facilitators’ will each provide later-life career guidance to older workers (aged 50+) – including unretirees, employees, job seekers etc. – thereby applying their learning and testing the process/techniques. Continue reading

Successful training in Matosinhos

After the preliminary phase the trainers eventually met in Matosinhos for the 5-day face-to-face training.
Trainers from UK, Portugal, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, and the Netherlands attended the course to find out more about the SASSI project and the SASSI approach to validate competences in terms of designing, delivering and evaluating age-responsive training.

The SASSI consortium offers a Training of Trainers (ToT) activity for VET/Adult education providers. The course aims at improving the technical and didactical expertise of the participating trainers in order to enable them to work with groups of mature adults.
The course is divided in three main phases:
- Preliminary phase: 12.09.-23.09.2016 in e-learning
- Face-to-face: 26.09.-30.09.2016 in Matosinhos (near Porto), Portugal

The VALLEY course in Timisoara was a wonderful experience!
With 13 participants – which turned out to be a very lucky number (we had no doubts) – the course was a real success. Each participant brought in a specific piece of expertise and made the course become a truly European learning experience
We were hosted by APOWER that is taking wonderfully care of everything.
All together 40 people met in Alden Biesen, Belgium for the first PROVIDE course on competence based learning.
The course aimed at enabling educationalists to plan and realise a learning trajectory focussing on open competence oriented learning and teaching. The participants were trained to be a facilitator of professional development among vocational/adult learning teachers, and for validating the outcomes of it by means of the LEVEL5 system.
