Making Learning Accessible – Developing the LiLI Digital Platform

How can we make learning opportunities more accessible to migrant women with different language levels, educational backgrounds and everyday responsibilities?

This is one of the questions guiding the development of the LiLI E-learning Platform, which will bring together the project’s learning materials and practical resources in a flexible digital environment.

Led by BUPNET, the development of the platform is an important part of the LiLI project. The aim is to create a user-friendly learning space that supports migrant women in developing their language and life skills, while also providing useful resources for educators, trainers and other professionals working in migrant integration.

Two complementary learning resources will form the heart of the platform.

The Language & Life Skills Learning Catalogue will offer practical learning activities combining language development with problem solving, critical thinking and decision making. The Intersectionality Toolkit will provide professionals with approaches and materials to support more inclusive educational practices that take account of women’s diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

Accessibility is a central consideration. The platform is being designed for use on smartphones and computers, allowing learners to engage with materials at their own pace. Content will be available in English, German, Italian, Greek and Dutch, with learning activities adapted to the respective national contexts.

Interactive exercises, progress tracking and gamified elements such as digital badges are also planned to encourage engagement and make learning achievements more visible.

However, creating an accessible digital learning environment involves more than technical features. Clear instructions, intuitive navigation and meaningful learning activities are equally important, particularly for users with limited digital experience.

Over the coming months, the platform and its content will undergo further development, testing and refinement with input from project partners and future users.

Our goal is to create more than a collection of online materials: a practical, inclusive learning environment that supports independence, participation and lifelong learning.
