Get Ready 2 Work – Study Visit in Vienna

logoGet Ready 2 Work aims to contribute to active employment of disadvantaged groups in the labour market in Bulgaria, i.e. young people (15-25) from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who have failed to complete their education and/or vocational training. 50 young people will be trained in a 2-month course to prepare them for an internship either in Bulgaria or, for 15 of them, in Austria. The training will primarily focus on language training (English or German) and communciation skills.

The project partners of the Get Ready 2 Work project (funded by the Bulgarian ESF) met for a study visit in Vienna, Austria. The aim was to exchange on good practices that could be transferred to Bulgaria. The project group were informed on and/or visited various offers for young people that aim to give orientation and support. Among the most relevant ones for the project are:

  • Jugendstiftung JUST der Aufleb GmbH in cooperation with die Berater
  • Space Lab, a youth centre in Vienna that applies a pro-active approach to involve young people in their orientation offers
  • Toplokal, a socio-economic organisation supported by the employement service of the city of Vienna in cooperation with die Berater
  • Mobility project IdA – “integration by exchange”. It is one of the federal programmes set up to increase the employability of unemployed by upgrading their individual capacities and professional skills on a transnational level.

An exchange with the transnational team and the trainers on the spot rounded up the visit.
