GreenComp is a core foundation of the GATE project, representing the European sustainability competence framework.
GreenComp defines key competencies that help learners to understand complex sustainability challenges, reflect on their values, envisage future possibilities and take meaningful action. Rather than focusing solely on knowledge, GreenComp promotes a holistic combination of attitudes, skills and understanding.
The framework is structured around four domains:
- Embodying sustainability values
- Embracing complexity
- Envisioning sustainable futures
- Acting for sustainability
At GATE, our goal is to make these competencies tangible by turning abstract concepts into practical tools that educators can easily integrate into their teaching.
By supporting trainers, we enable learners to become thoughtful, responsible and forward-thinking citizens.
