As part of our ongoing UNITE activities, we continue to explore new ways of supporting integration beyond mentoring and coaching sessions. One important element of this approach is creating shared cultural experiences.
Shortly before Easter, a group of 12 UNITE participants attended a theatre performance together — the well-known play MOMO. For many, it was not only their first visit to a German theatre, but also a unique opportunity to experience language, storytelling, and culture in a new and engaging way.
The evening offered much more than entertainment. It created space for:
- language learning in a real-life context,
- shared reflection and discussion,
- and a sense of belonging through collective experience.
Participants responded very positively — they enjoyed the atmosphere, the story, and the chance to experience German culture together. Moments like these help build confidence and strengthen social connections, which are essential for successful integration.
Cultural activities like this are an integral part of the UNITE programme. They complement mentoring, coaching, and language learning by opening doors to everyday life and cultural participation in the host country.
We are happy to see how such experiences bring people together — and we look forward to many more shared moments ahead.
