Building Confidence and New Perspectives – Progress in the UNITE Programme

Over the past months, the UNITE programme in Göttingen has continued to grow and develop. Through regular mentoring sessions, language cafés, and informal learning activities, participants have been taking important steps toward strengthening their skills, confidence, and career perspectives.

Working closely with their mentors and coaches, participants have been exploring their professional backgrounds, identifying their strengths, and setting personal goals for the future. The programme combines individual mentoring with practical experiences that help participants better understand both the German labour market and everyday life in their new environment.

One particularly encouraging development is the progress many participants have made in language confidence and communication. Through weekly language cafés and real-life exchanges during group activities, participants are practising German in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.

At the same time, the mentoring process has helped participants reflect on their professional paths and explore new opportunities — whether through career orientation, further training, or first contacts with local employers.

As the first mentoring cycle is now approaching its final stage, we are proud to see how much participants have grown during this time. Their motivation, resilience, and openness continue to inspire our entire UNITE team.

With the first cycle coming to a close, we are also preparing to welcome new participants who would like to take part in the programme and benefit from mentoring, language practice, and community activities.

The journey continues — and we look forward to supporting more Ukrainian newcomers as they build their next chapter in Germany.
