SASSI LLC – How do I turn my skills into freelancing?

  1. Analyze your hobbies, skills and talents – Ask yourself: What kind of hobby do I love enough to make it full-time or part-time? What kind of in-demand skill do I have? What industries have you worked in and already know a lot about? What skills have helped me succeed at my day job? Determine if your hobby is something that people are willing to pay for. Consider whether there is a demand for the products or services you would be offering as a freelancer. If you cannot think of a particular hobby or skill begin by analyzing your past experience and explore something you are passionate about.
  2. Develop your skills and expertise. If you want to be successful as a freelancer, it’s important to be proficient in your chosen field. Consider taking classes or workshops to improve your skills and knowledge. Books, courses, virtual coaches and podcasts can all help you launch and expand your freelance career.
  3. Create a portfolio – A portfolio is a collection of your work that demonstrates your skills and experience. Having a strong portfolio can help you attract potential clients and showcase your abilities.
  4. Determine your rates and services. – Determine how much you want to charge for your services, and create a list of the services you are willing to offer – Paid by the hour, day, week or month
  5. Promote your business – You need a strong online and media presence. Use social media (Instagram, tumblr, facebook, etc.), networking events, and online platforms like Upwork and Freelancer to promote your freelancing business and find potential clients. Create your own website. Raise awareness of your services on your neighbourhood’s community platform.
  6. Be professional and reliable. – To succeed as a freelancer, it’s important to be professional and reliable. Respond to inquiries promptly, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work to your clients. It’s important to stay organized and boost your productivity as you may easily get sidetracked when you work from home
