Over the past four months, the collaborative efforts of two EU projects, PROMOTE and GSD, have culminated in the successful completion of the transformative “Design Thinking for Sustainable Innovators” course. This dynamic program brought together participants from diverse professional backgrounds across Europe for a series of engaging online sessions from February to May. Notably, the course not only equipped them with a strong foundation in design thinking methodology but also challenged them to develop solutions to pressing social challenges.
The course participants, known as Sustainable Innovators, were divided into three groups, each tasked with addressing a unique challenge: food waste reduction, community integration, and improving access to prosthetics. Throughout the course, these creative minds explored innovative ideas and practical approaches to tackle these issues head-on.
The program reached its pinnacle with an inspiring two-day in-person prototyping session in Göttingen, Germany. This hands-on experience allowed the Sustainable Innovators to transform their ideas into tangible prototypes, showcasing the true potential of their solutions.
The grand finale took place at the prestigious reveal15 Conference, where the three prototypes were unveiled, presented, and put to the vote. Among the standout solutions, “Step for Life” emerged as the most voted platform, aiming to give old prosthetics a second life and provide assistance to those in need.
