One of the main goals of the UNITE project is to support displaced people from Ukraine in building a new future through sustainable employment. We are delighted to share that this goal is already becoming a reality: the first participants in our programme have successfully entered the labour market.
For the participants, finding employment is much more than securing a job. It represents independence, stability, and the opportunity to actively shape their new lives while contributing their skills and experience to their host communities.
These first successes are the result of a comprehensive support approach that goes beyond job placement. Across all partner countries, UNITE combines different forms of assistance to respond to the individual needs of participants. This includes:
- personal mentoring to guide participants through their integration journey,
- career coaching and tailored training to strengthen employability,
- language learning opportunities that build confidence in everyday and professional communication,
- psychological support where needed, and
- community activities that foster social inclusion and a sense of belonging.
By bringing these elements together, UNITE creates an environment in which participants can develop both professionally and personally.
While we celebrate these first employment outcomes, they also encourage us to continue our work. Many more participants are currently engaged in mentoring, coaching, language cafés, and other activities designed to support their integration into working life and society.
These achievements demonstrate that when personalised support, committed mentors, and strong partnerships come together, meaningful and lasting change is possible.
