One of the strengths of European cooperation is the opportunity to learn from inspiring initiatives across borders.
As part of the UNITE project, two members of the BUPNET team travelled to Vilnius, Lithuania, to participate in the Third Mutual Learning Event. Together with organisations from across Europe, they explored innovative approaches supporting people displaced by Russia’s war against Ukraine.
One of the highlights was visiting Artscape, an initiative demonstrating how art, education, and community engagement can foster inclusion and create spaces where people feel connected and valued.
The programme also introduced approaches ranging from trauma-informed support to entrepreneurship and leadership initiatives for Ukrainians. Particularly exciting for us was meeting another German organisation that supports Ukrainian entrepreneurs—opening up promising opportunities for future cooperation.
The visit reminded us that successful integration benefits enormously from exchanging ideas and learning from one another. We returned home with fresh inspiration, valuable contacts, and many ideas that we are already incorporating into our work in Göttingen
