In February, the GATE partners met in Göttingen to focus on the practical side of the framework, considering how sustainability competencies can be brought to life through learning scenarios and visual tools.
Together, we explored how the four GreenComp domains could be translated into engaging educational situations. The partners worked on designing scenarios to enable trainers to guide learners through reflection on values, systems thinking, future exploration and action-oriented learning.
A key highlight was the discussion on visual representations, such as symbols and learning materials, which make competencies intuitive and accessible. These tools will help educators introduce sustainability concepts clearly and motivatingly.
The Göttingen meeting was an important step towards creating practical resources that bridge theory and practice, which is a central ambition of the GATE project.
