BUPNET EU

Supporting Ukrainian refugees on their journey into employment and inclusion

UNITE (Ukrainian Newcomer’s Integration Towards Employment) is a European project that supports the integration of Ukrainian refugees into the labour market and society in Germany and across Europe. Funded by the ESF+ programme, the project brings together partners from Germany, Sweden, Austria, and Poland.

UNITE offers personalised coaching and mentoring, helps improve language and professional skills, and provides access to internships, social services, and informal learning opportunities. The aim is to create meaningful career perspectives tailored to individual needs, strengths, and goals.

BUPNET coordinates the German activities and works with local mentors and stakeholders to implement the innovative BIP approach (Basic Integration Programme), which supports all areas of life – including employment, health, housing, and family – simultaneously rather than separately.

Activities in Germany include:

  • Individual mentoring over a period of 3 months (online or face-to-face)
  • Personalised goal-setting and learning pathways
  • Monthly group activities and excursions (e.g. cultural events, workplace visits)
  • Open language cafés and a one-stop help desk
  • Opportunities for participants to take part in a study visit or contribute to project development

Project coordination: Folkuniversitetet, Sweden

Project duration: 01.04.20025 – 31.10.2026
