TRANSFORM stands for Twin Transition Support Framework for Reskilling and Upskilling in MSMEs based on the Living Lab approach and is a European initiative that aims to strengthen adult education and training systems in order to address current and future skills needs in key economic sectors. As labour shortages continue to affect industries that are vital for the green and digital transitions, TRANSFORM offers a forward-looking response by supporting individuals in acquiring new skills and helping them to re-enter the labour market.
Project objectives
TRANSFORM focuses on helping adults, whether unemployed or looking to upskill, to gain the relevant skills for jobs in sectors such as:
- Agrifood
- Energy
- Tourism
The project also supports those in other areas where green and digital skills are in increasing demand.
The project supports this by providing:
- Online modular training courses for 210 adult learners
- Career Guidance Excellence Programme targeting 70 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs);
- Skills Mapping Tool to identify training needs and skills gaps
- Reskilling lab to co-create and test solutions with stakeholders
- Tailored policy recommendations based on regional needs.
Why TRANSFORM?
Europe is facing a dual challenge of a changing labour market and increasing pressure on businesses to innovate and adapt to green and digital demands. TRANSFORM addresses both of these challenges by:
- bringing together education providers, businesses, public authorities and innovation actors
- developing real-world training solutions based on actual labour market needs
- supporting inclusive reskilling pathways, especially for those with low formal qualifications.
- creating a foundation for long-term policy innovation in adult learning.
