SASSI – Kick-off meeting in Portugal

Silver Sage_FinalOn 11./12.11.2015 the SASSI consortium met in Matosinhos, Portugal for the first partner meeting. The meeting aimed to set the ground for the future project develoment works.
SASSI aims to support age-responsive approaches to continuous professional development (CPD) for older learners and workers. As a first step the partners defined the target margroup_TM1kets in more detail. It was agreed that in SASSI with older learners and workers we refer to people aged 50+ who are job seekers/ career changers and/or those who wish to remain in work (either because they want to keep working past retirement age, or because they have to work for longer as a result of the raising of the pension age. The primary target markets are trainers working with people aged 50+: both vocational and adult education trainers for CPD (both in and out of the workplace) and employability as well as employers (HR managers + line managers) for workplace CPD and updating.
The first project phase will be dedicated to a comprehensive needs analysis aimed to gain an understanding of the needs of older learners, adult VET and CPD providers and HR Managers and to explore the nature of age-responsive educations in terms of levels of awareness, good practice and on-going experiences.

For this purpose, all partners will carry out country-specific desk research and primary research by means of interviews / focus groups involving the trainers and HR managers. All findings will be summarised in an overall needs analysis report that will form the basis for the subsequent development steps.
The results will be published end of March – so stay tuned!
