SASSI … and the winners are

During the final conference of the SASSI project, held on 18 May and hosted by Drenthe College in Meppel, two organizations have been awarded the SASSI award. These are: Leer Werk Centrum from the Netherlands and Vzdelávací inštitút COOP from Slovakia. Both showed their strong commitment in applying workforce development initiatives for older workers.

SASSI – Final conference ahead

The SASSI consortium is organising its final conference which will take place on May18th, 2017, in Drenthe College, Drenthe, Netherlands.
The SASSI partners will introduce the SASSI methodology of providing age-sensitive training and professional development for updating and upskilling the ageing workforce and will present the results of the piloting phase during which all partners have implemented the SASSI methodology in their training or corporate contexts.

SASSI – Newsletter 4

We have announced the SASSI award for innovative workforce development strategies for the ageing workforce in our last post – actually the award is still open for submissions!

In addition, you can not only apply for the SASSI award but use the same type of information for applying for the SASSI label. The SASSI label is given to those organisations that have implemented age-responsive strategies for their mature employees. So you can actually catch two birds with one stone – take part in the award and maybe win a trip to the Netherland and get the SASSI label. We are seeking submissions of innovative workforce development strategies that maintain and improve the motivation and productivity of older workers; strategies that enhance inclusion and age-diversity whilst supporting an organisational vision, and that create positive organisational outcomes.

SASSI Awards for innovative workforce development strategies for the ageing workforce

We are seeking submissions of innovative workforce development strategies that maintain and improve the motivation and productivity of older workers; strategies that enhance inclusion and age-diversity whilst supporting an organisational vision, and that create positive organisational outcomes.

The SASSI Awards aim to highlight and celebrate this good practice. The Awards will be presented at the SASSI Conference in Meppel, Netherlands on 18th May 2017.

Winners will receive a grant for their travel and accommodation costs.

SASSI – Train the trainers … the experience

Silver Sage_FinalAfter the preliminary phase the trainers eventually met in Matosinhos for the 5-day face-to-face training.
Trainers from UK, Portugal, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, and the Netherlands attended the course to find out more about the SASSI project and the SASSI approach to validate competences in terms of designing, delivering and evaluating age-responsive training.
It was an intense week, rich of exchanges, fruitful discussions and a lot of inspiration. Continue reading

SASSI – Training of Trainers in Portugal

Silver Sage_FinalThe SASSI consortium offers a Training of Trainers (ToT) activity for VET/Adult education providers. The course aims at improving the technical and didactical expertise of the participating trainers in order to enable them to work with groups of mature adults.
The course is divided in three main phases:
  1. Preliminary phase: 12.09.-23.09.2016 in e-learning
  2. Face-to-face: 26.09.-30.09.2016 in Matosinhos (near Porto), Portugal
